Nelson, reporter A hoy trying, to give away $lO notes to children at the' ' Municipal Pool Nelson', yesterday afternoon was found by the police ,to have, taken $3OO from a service station a little earlier..’; The boy, aged 10, entered the office tof Chalet Motors, Halifax Street, about 2 p.m. while,, the woman attendant was engaged/elsewhere. • / He reached into the till and took $3OO in.a bundle of $lO notes.' One of the notes he broke within, 50m whenhe bought a can of soft drink at an adjoining service station. On arriving at the pool 400 m away he tried to. . distribute. - largess J among some of thel patrons, ■ and- in so-doing aroused the suspicions of an attendant, who' called the police. / The police, already alerted -to the ~ theft,' were 1 quickly oh the scene, and s27o'of. the money was,recovered,some of ; it. from hiding places he had found •on his way to. the pool.
