Half wheat tested

About half of the current season’s wheat crop has now been tested for quality by the Wheat Research Institute in Christchurch. The director of the institute, Mr R. W. Cawley, said on Tuesday afternoon that the number of samples then received for testing was up to 5000, still mainly from Canterbury. Quality, he said, remained good and better, than last year. The high quality of. this year’s crop was confirmed this week by Mr C. A.

McNally, the general manager of Zealandia Milling (1980), Ltd and Mr W. J. Wood, the company’s grain and mill manager, who said that this seemed to be a very good year for grain.
