Waikari heads swimming carnival

Waikari retained the (points banner in the final 1 inter-club points swimming arnival of the season’ for 'North Canterbury non-affil-J..ted clubs. Waikari won an exciting contest in w’hich it alternated with Amberley, which finally gained most points., - ' The award is made, however, on the > number of points gained by a club averaged over its competitors and this put Waikari first, with Cheviot second and Amberley third. Eighty-three competitors took part, which was considered good for a cold water pool in cool weather.
