New format for rallies
The promoters of the Mainland Rally - Series have come up wlEi a newlook format for the 1981 contest. The’ ' series is based on the - .six longest established rallies in the South Island.' and covers the whole. of the Island. er than the traditional five, and for the first time all rounds 'will count towards the series. This change will encourage the serious contenders to compete in all the rounds. The prize pool has been doubled to a minimum of $lOOO. The programme is: round 1, Eastern Southland Car Club; round 2, Westland Car Club; round 3, Otago Sports Car Club; ~ound 4, Autosport Club; round 5, Marlborough Car Club; round 6, Nelson Car Club.
