Weak trend deepens

Falls outnumbered rises more than six to one on a moderate, weak New Zealand sharemarket yesterday, as the bearish trend began to deepen. The N.Z.U.C. index fell 7.92 points, putting its losses in the last *' six trading sessions at 22.34 points. Losses by Brierley Investments, Carter Holt, Fletcher Challenge, N.Z. Forest Products, New Zealand Insurance, T. J. Edmonds, and Wilson and Horton were all in double, figures. Only nine New Zealand issues w ere in the rises, including Chenery,. ‘ and Mainzeal.
