Tinwald ewe prices easier
Buyers from as far away as Cromwell, Central Otago, attended the second Ashburton strong-wool two-tooth ewe fair at Tinwald yeste :- day. The sale of the yarding of about'6soo head was held in . drizzling rain, which pleased local farmers. The yarding included Bor-der-Corriedales, Borderdales, Border-Merinos and BorderHalftreds. Quality generally was good. One or two lines of capital stock were included and these realised reasonably satisfactory prices. The better pens fetched from $26 to $2B and medium sheep made from $22’ to $25. Prices generally were not quite in line with Monday’s very good sale, but for the type of sheep offered were considered to be satisfactory. A large . gallery followed the sale,: - including buyers from South Canterbury, Darfield, Brookside, and Oxford.
