Racing and trotting Frosty Lopez expected to do better this evening

By

G. K. YULE

Frosty Lopez looks poised to reinstate herself as one of the more talented males racing in Canterbury when she contests the White Heron Stakes at Addington Raceway this evening.

Frosty Lopez had not long returned from a campaign in the Auckland area when she failed to do better than seventh behind D’Or Favori at the end of a solidly-run mobile 2600 m at Addington on February 14. She looks to have thrived lately and will only need average luck in the running to come out on top. One of the hardest for hei o beat will no doubt be Unique Princess, a deternined finisher for a close second to Cottonfields oyer 3200 m at Ashburton last Saturday. Unique Princess is right back to her best form, which entitles her to serious consideration in this c.ent, which is the second leg of the T.A.B. double, the final leg of the T.A.B. treble and also a T.A.B. quinella race. Form shown at Ashburton last Saturday will be given added value if Tystar, asl seems likely, lakes promi-1

nent part in the finish. The' son of Typhoon Hanover was one of the most impres- j sive winners at Ashburton,! recording the smart time of! 3min 10.8 s for 2400 m when! he beat the speedy Dundas.| There was much merit in ■ Tystar’s effort as he lost; gcund early after starting; trom 10m. Cottonfields, which has ■ drawn the second line, Koauj ‘Bret, Follow Up and Frosty Lobell have gc • fair races! far times and they could add; I interest to the finish. K abase, a last-! start winner at the trott-| ing gait at Oamaru earlier inj the month, will race as a; pacer in this event. The sis-c ter to Brase has drawn No. i 1 at the barrier and if she! i make full use of this! handy, position, she could be; ! one for longer odds. Herlj owner-trainer, Allan Holmes, I makes no secret of the fact J that she has great speed as} a pacer. 11
