New chief settles in
Mr J. B. Buxton, who before his appointment as chief executive of N.Z. Farmers Co-operative Association of Canterbury, Ltd. was chief executive of Towers International, Ltd, a major meat distributor in the United Kingdom jointly owned by New Zealand interests, formally took up his appointment at Farmers on Monday. Mr Buxton was educated at Takapuna Grammar School and during bis early years as a Rural Field I Cadet, he completed courses lat both Massey and at Lincoln College, gaining a I Diploma of Valuations and |Farm Management. Mr Buxton has served the I New Zealand agricultural ini'dustry during the whole of | his career and has been with 'several of New Zealand’s I major meat companies before joining Towers International. Mr Buxton is a wellknown rugby player, and represented New Zealand in 1955-56; during his career he played for Canterbury; Otago, Manawatu, and Auckland.
