Streamlined system
PA Wellington The Labour Party intended to “streamline” its Shadow Cabinet system, said the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Rowling) yesterday. There had been gaps in the existing system which tended to create a “separateness” between Shadow Cabinet members and other Labour members of Parliament, he said. There would be an “up-; grading” of some members’; responsibilities but these would mot be announced until after the next party caucus. . Mr Rowling said the future position of the member for Nelson, Mr M. F,. Courtney, had not been discussed.
