Witness summons discharged
PA Wellington [ A witness summons served on the former Gover-nor-General, Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake; by a Maori activist, ‘Nathan Te Ringa Mangu (Dun) Mihaka, aged 38, was the subject of a High Court motion yesterday. I The Chief Justice (Sir : Ronald Davison) heard a motion by Sir Keith to have the summons struck out on the grounds that he was unable to give any relevant or : admissible evidence. Mihaka is charged in the District Court with wilful ' trespass on the Pipitea marae when the then Go’'er--rior-General was there as a guest. The charge is part-1 heard. As the ’ C r own had given an undertaking that- Sir Keith would appear at the hearing should the District Court -judge , require it, he would ‘leave It -, to the ‘District Court, to. whether the evidence was [’relevant. That would preserve any right Mihaka might have in the matter. In the meantime, the witness summons would, be- dischraged.
