Wool by sample
For the first time in New Zealand all wool entered in the Christchurch and Invercargill wool sale at Christchurch on Thursday, is being offered by. sample—in boxes. The offering is 22,224 bales —10,012, from Christchurch and 12,212 from Southland. The chairman of the Christchurch Woolbrokers’ Association. Mr K. M. Collins. said that it would not have been possible to offer! the Christchurch wools in] the conventional way so soon) after the January 21 and 231 sale. The Invercargill wools are' being shown in boxes in each of the four Christchurch! brokers’ stores. Another feature of the] sale is.that the Christchurch] wools are averaging about] 17.6 bales per lot and the! average for the combined 1 ' offering is 19.6. This means! that the sale should occupy! about half a day only.
