Borg to miss first round
NZPA Stockholm Bjorn Borg will not play on the Swedish Davis Cup team against Japan at Yokohama, March 6-8, the Swedish Tennis Federation has announced. Borg, the world’s top tennis star and undefeated in-Davis Cup singles since 1974, told the federation that he would rather play in the second round of the competition. Even without Borg, Sweden is heavily favoured to beat Japan. The Swedish team will be announced on February 24 by the non-playing captain, John-Anders Sjogren.
