‘Regular workers not in danger’

PA Wellington Persons sentenced by the courts to do community service would not displace regular workers said the Minister of Justice (Mr McLay) yesterday. He was speaking at a press conference to brief the news media on the new community service sentence to be introduced in the courts next week. "We are anxious to ensure that persons sentenced to community service do not in any way infringe on or displace people normally engaged in gainful employ-! ment,” Mr McLay said.
