By 808 SCHUMACHER Silent Mirage might not be in the same class over a distance as some of the opposition he will meet in the Harding Cup sprint at the Christchurch Greyhound Racing Club’s totalisatoi meeting at Queen Elizabeth II Park on Friday evening, but he is a talented speedster. The Harding Cup distance of 330 m will suit Silent Mirage ideally and, as he has drawn better than most of his renowned rivals, he has a grand chance to win the club’s prestige sprint. At the New Zealand championship meeting last November, Silent Mirage was an easy winner of a class 4 race over the same distance. The opposition was only modest, but the Silent Won-der-Smooth Flight dog covered the distance in 19.875, the fastest time this season. Three fine chasers, Tredeka Lass, Go Benjamin and Lisa Havoc, have drawn traps five, six and seven, respectively, and those positions will not help their chances.
