Fugitive shot
NZPA West Berlin East German frontier guards yesterday foiled an attempt to scale the wall between East and West Berlin, police sources in the West said. Witnesses were reported as saying that guards fired several shots into East German territory before picking up an apparently lifeless body.
The East Germans prevented an escape to the West by a young man on December 17 and by a young girl on December 22. The girl, aged 18, who was pregnant, died later of bullet wounds but two men with her managed to get across the wall. Since the.beginning of this year., nine;.
