Tramper injured

A Royal New Zealand Air Force helicopter from Wig-; ram was used yesterday i afternoon to- fly an injured woman from Jagged Stream, in the upper Rakaia Valley, to .Methven after her companion had alerted the police that' she could not walk from the area.' •

Six jet boats were used to get 18 search and rescue personnel. as close to ■ the spot as possible in what was to be an attempt to carry Miss Robins out. Low river levels, however, meant that the boats could travel only a short distance into the Jagged Stream and the decision was then made to call for a helicopter.
