Speculation set to win

Special correspondent Wellington The four-year-old Speculation, second in the Manawatu Challenge Stakes a week ago, should gain some compensation’ for that loss when he tackles the Summer Cup. the first leg of the T.A.B. double at Awapuni, this afternoon;

A week ago Speculation beat all but Pays Anne, and the field he meets today, while larger, certainly does not contain any with the quality of the mare. Despite a wide draw the three-year-old Essenbee could be Speculation’s biggest threat. Other chances would have to be Star Piper, which was a dose third in the Festival Handicap yesterday, while the form of Daybreak, Grand Command, Sovereign’s Knight and Great Dane is consistent.
