The Christchurch Gas company reports that many domestic gas consumers have been making inquiries about whether they qualify for the additional financial assistance for the conversion of their appliances when gas supplies are stopped. The company will review its scheme on December 31, 1980, and it is possible that the additional assistance offer will be withdrawn next year. So far §600,000 in additional assistance has been provided by the company. Manv domestic consumers have already received their final three-months notice that their, .gas. supply is being cut off. Up to 200 consumers a week are being told of the company’s intention to discontinue the gas supply.

Domestic consumers are ! urged to call on the company and discuss the assistance that is now available.
