University Vacancies THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC SENIOR LECTURER/READER IN MONETARY ECONOMICS (POST 80/84) APPLICATIONS are invited from appropriately qualified persons for a senior position (Senior Lccturer/Reader) in Economics in the University. The successful applicant would be expected to develop and teach courses in Monetary Economics oriented to the context of a developing country and to contribute the in-service courses and to undertaking consultancies m the region. The person appointed would be expected also to carry out appropriate applied research in the area. The post therefore requires both a specialised academic ability in the field of Monetary. Economics, good teaching ability, and a general capability in Economics sufficient to meet various research demands. Salary in accordance with qualifications and experience on the following range/scale: Senior Lecturer: $F13,2a715,606 Reader: $F16,420 - 17,944 In addition the University provides 15 per cent gratuity, appointment allowance, partly furnished accommodation at 12} per cent of salary. The University will pay an allowance in lieu of superannuation of 10 per cent of standard salary. In some cases this allowance may be paid directly to the appointee’s existing superannuation scheme subject to decision on acceptability of the scheme by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue.
