Ben Travers dies
The playwright Ben Travers, one of the masters of British farce, has died aged 94. In a career spanning nearly 60 years, Travers wrote 20 plays, 30 film scripts and five novels. His most recent play, “The Bed Before Yesterday”, opned in London's West End in 1975. His First play, “The Dippers,” was produced in London in 1922. He went on to write many other risque farces such as “Rookery Nook;" "Plunder,” and “Banana .Ridge,” all successfully revived in recent years. London. i
