He was easily the best two-year-old trotter of his year, winning five penaltyfree races from six attempts. Spartan Prince maintained , his form as a three-year-old, ! his seven starts yielding four wins and two seconds. ■Roy Purdon said Spartan [Prince's trouble was in both hocks. "He seems all right.” he said, “but the test will I come when the real pressure goes on.” Purdon reported that Rej markable was fit again but would not start in the Thames Trotting Cup at Alexandra Park on Saturday I week. Instead, the horse i would contest the Sylvia I Park Stakes, which will be [run on the same night. “The Sylvia Park Stakes is 2200 m and is restricted to [four-year-olds.” Purdon said. “The cup, which is 3200 m. might be a bit hard for him at this stage.” Remarkable had to be put aside when a chafe cut in his off hindleg became infected. It responded quickly to treatment.
