Shivaree selected to beat Ring the Bell today
Special Correspondent ! Auckland It needed only the draw 1 for barrier positions to go his way for Shivaree to be the favourite over Ring the Bell in the Alison Stakes at Ellerslie today. Shivaree. as it happened, drew 7. and Ring the Bell the extreme outside of the fieid. The advantage to Shivaree. < om the 2000 m start, is considerable, sufficient it seems to offset his having; to give the other horse B.skg. While not very big. Shivaree seems to manavei weight well. Under the weight-for-age conditions he, is set to carry 58.5 kg. a fair; burden but no more ‘han hewon with over 1600 m at Hawera last month, also at I weight-for-age.
