Study tour of Japan
People interested ip being selected for a study tour of Japan have until December 3 to make application to the Japanese Embassy in Wellington. An examination by written papers and interviews wi|l be held at the embassy from March 2 until March 15.
Two persons between the ages of 18 and 40 on March 1, 1981, will be selected, one from Wellington and another from anywhere in New Zea-, land. The successful candit dates will join others from, the United States, Europe,!
the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania.
Hie study tour will consist of formal lectures. on the Japanese language, culture, arid contemporary conditions in Japan, all of which will be, conducted in Japanese. Accommodation, air fares, and general expenses will be paid for by the Japan Foundation. To qualify, applicants must have completed 300 hours of Japanese language and must not have been inj Japan for more than three [months after the age of 12.
