Genera,! forecast: A cold west to'south-west airstream following a cold front is expected to bring further showers to the west of New Zealand, with isolated thunderstorms and some snow about the South Island ranges. Some showers may spread. District forecasts:

Canterbury:. Showers about the alps, spreading to the coast overnight; fresh northerlies at first but westerlies later predominating; cool. Nelson:. Cloudy with occasional showers and fresh

northerlies at first; the showers becoming confined to the western ranges and mainly fine elsewhere with cooler south - westerly winds.

Marlborough: Cloudy with scattered showers over night but mainly fine; strong north-westerlies in exposed places at first but lighter winds and cooler. Buller, Westland: Cold showery, with some thunderstorms, hail and snow down to. 600 metres on the ranges; fresh southwesterlies.
