Decision deferred
PA Wellington The highly successful apprentice jockey, Wayne Jeffcoat, is not eligible to ride until he returns to his registered employer, the Woodville trainer, John Harris. Jeffcoat had been on loan to his father for a short period, but this expired recently. An application was made to the New Zealand Racing Conference to have this loan extended, or to transfer to another trainer, but the committee decided on Thursday to defer any decision until John Harris can comment Harris recently suffered a broken leg in a fall from a horse and is in hospital.
