“Green Valley,” a deer farm near Oxford, was passed in at auction yesterdav at $lBO,OOO. the 65.3 ha farm is on Woodside Road, about 10km from Oxford township. Buildings on the property include a four bedroom weatherboard house, as well as a new 465 square metre covered deer yard and selling complex. The land is both hill and flat, and has areas of native bush. The auctioneer was G. Robertson, of Wrightson NMA, Ltd, Christchurch. Negotiations continued after the auction.
A. modern two-storey, colonial-style, homestead on nearly 9ha of land near West Melton, was passed in at auction yesterday at $158,000, but sold privately immediately afterwards. The four-year-old, brick veneer and wood house has four bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom, a';, study, separate dining area, pantry, beamed ceilings and a brick fireplace. Outbuildings include a double garage with internal access'to the house, as well as a workshop. The auctioneer was Mr R. I. Stark, of Wrightson NMA, Ltd, Christchurch; The property is in Hoskyn’s Road, and was owned by Mr M. F. Brownie.
“Puriwheiro,” a 2.5 ha property at 124 Main Road, Redcliffs, sold at auction for $98,000. The 1979 Government Valuation is $75,000.
The four-bedroom house, which has been plastered, has an iron roof, and is thought to be about 80 years old. It was auctioned by Mr G. Woodley, of -Binns. Barber and Keenan, on behalf of the Hamilton family estate. Both the house and the gardens needed tidying, and although the property, was held in six titles, the new owners had indicated, they would restore it rather than subdivide immediately, he said.
