Price curb on timber may go
PA Wellington The Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr AdamsSchneider) has asked the Commerce Commission to investigate the advisability of removing New Zealandgrown exotic timber from the positive list of controlled goods and services; Also marked for possible removal from the list are timber services relating to local exotics, such as dressing and processing, and imported timber services.
Mr Adams-Schneider Wants to know whether price tJontfol should be continued or if price restraint is warranted. The commission will hold a preliminary hearing on December 9 followed by a main hearing on dates not yet fixed.
