Two riders fined
Two jockevs were each fined $3O for breaches of the Rules by the Canterbury Jockey Club's judicial committee at Riccarton on Saturday.
This penalty was imposed on the Ashburton-based apprentice. C. Edmond, for allowing his mount, Care-
less, to take the line of Boulder City, when not sufficiently clear, about 200 m out in' the Strowan Handicap. The movement from Careless forced Boulder Citv’s rider, K. W. Morton, to check his mount. In fixing Edmonds penaltv. the committee took into account his restricted experience and the fact th-tt the offence was of a minor nature. , -j -r W. M. Berry, the rider ot Jaws •in the Jockey Club Handicap, received a similar penalty for weighing m three-quarters of a kilogram in excess of his weigh-out weight.
