The Fellowship is tenable for two years, and the appointee will be expected to join a small group working on the role and function of lectins in the physiology of seeds. The Fellowship carries an emolument of $NZ15,755 per annum inclusive of an allowance of up to SNZ22OO toward return fares. MASSEY UNIVERSITY, PALMERSTON NORTH DEPARTMENTAL DEMONSTRATOR IN BOTANY (Plant Physiology) APPLICATIONS are invited for a position as Demonstrator in Botany, in the Department of Botany and Zoology. Duties will consist of providing instruction to laboratory classes in the Diploma of Horticulture. The appointment will be for an initial period of one year with the possibility of two annual renewals. The appointee will be expected to enrol for the Ph.D. degree, and should therefore be a graduate in science with first or second class honours. The Department’s interests are in plant physiology and ecology and the Ph.D. research topic would be chosen from one of the following areas: Nitrogen fixation, physiology and biochemistry of seed development or. germination, plant lectins. There are excellent facilities for research in plant physiology. Salary will be up to s64oa p.a. depending on qualifications and experience.
