Teachers’ college hours
NZPA Auckland Auckland Teachers’ College will remain open for extended hours next year to cope with extra, students because of fhe phasing-out of the North Shore Teachers’ College,. the Minister .of Education (Mr Wellington) has said. After a one-hour meeting 'with the Auckland Teachers Colleges’ Council yesterday! he said the phasing-out was| likely to cause certain difficulties.
“It will be necessary to extend the hours at Epsom to 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or perhaps even longer," he said.
Mr Wellington emphasised) that the Government’s deci-; sion was irrevocable, but he said that staff at North Shore would be guaranteed positions at the Epsom college.
