Special Correspondent
Woodville Gold Bullion ran pleasingly in his final gallop at Woodville yesterday morning. and looks a strong chance in the Ruahine Handicap at Trentham tomorrow. His stablcmates, Orchidra and Loretto, also went well. Fast work was done on the inside grass, which was! in goo' order. Gold Bullion was going well, just shading Lancome, at the end cf 1200 m in Imin. 16s, the last 600 m in 37.55. He won well at Waverley last time out, and on a firm track cov’ 1 rept at Des Harris will ride him. Orchidra and Loretto started slowly at the 1200 m, but still registered Imin.
16.15. They ran the last 1000 m in Imin. 2.75, and • were on terms at the. finish of the last 600 m in 38.25. Orchidra is forward for the Awatea Handicap and should run her usual bold first-up race. Noel Eales will decide today when to claim an allowance for Orchidra. Loretto is in the Pc?.rce Handicap. She is also ready 'for a big effort, and any ■rain would help her.
