King Kaka started a length behind Styline at the 800 m on the sand, but he was alongside and under a hold at the finish. They took 51.35, the last 600 m in 38.45. Taieri Special drew two lengths clear of Silverbright after sprinting the last 600 m of 1000 m in 40s. Chiitem Blaze we-.t keenly early, as usual, in a round of the sand. He has thrived since winning over hurdles last week for Brian .'mderton’s stable.
