Seven thousand pupils from ISO New Zealand secondary schools will participate in an international survey of mathematics standards. •; r , i . The Minister of Education <XMr .Wellington) .said the
programme was one of a series. of international surveys of various secondary subjects 7 in which New Zealand had participated in the last decade. . The 180 classes involved are a randcm sample of
third and seventh forms. Similar samples have been taken at the same levels in 25 other countries. The results will be processed .at computer centres in New Zealand, and at the - University of .Illinois.
