0.5 p.c. pay rise accepted
PA Wellington Wellington and Prorirua social workers have accepted a 0.5 per cent salary rise which Christchurch social workers have rejected. The State Services Commission offer was accepted reluctantly Said Mr J. Barkess, of the Wellington regional office of the Public Service Association yesterday. There WaS a lot of dissatisfaction with it. A P.S.A. spokesman for the Christchurch social workers said the offer was regarded as an insult and fell far short of the increase needed to maintain relativity with vocational guidance officers.
