S.I. karting champs
The Christchurch Kart Club will hold the Radio Avon South Island championships at the Carr’s Road raceway for the first time in three years this week-end.
More than 100 entries have been received for the nine championships, which will be held over five heats with drivers dropping their worst performance. The national title-holder, Paul Larsen (Invercargill),
will‘be- L the favourite for-the lOOc.c. international class. His main opposition is expected to come from two. other Southland karters, Peter Mills and Neville McPherson, and Dunedin’s Clarrie Bremner.

and the lOOc.c. junior , stock restricted to drivers aged between 12- and 16 years, should -develop into a tussle between Daryl Wehner (Nelson), ‘Brent ; McConnell (Christchurch) and Scott Munroe (Southland).
John Hamilton, the national champion in the 125c.c. gearbox class, will have’to be on his mettle against a big and strong entry of 22 in the class.
