mate, Geoff Portman, slithered off the muddy road. Partman’s Datsun struck a log which damaged the front suspension and cost him 40 minutes making repairs. The incident dropped him to sixth place. Ross Dunkerton has ms Datsun in second place ahead of the Ford Escorts of Greg Carr and Finland's Ari Vatanen.
