‘Express’ appoints editor
PA Blenheim Mr David Wilson, an English-trained journalist, has taken up his position as editor of the “Marlborough Express.” A former chief reporter and news editor of the “Nelson Evening Mail,” Mr Wilson, aged 39, was a senior sub-editor with the “Adelaide News,” at the time of his appointment. He succeeds Mr Harry Turvey, who becomes associate editor. The change follows the decision of the board of directors to secure continuity of editorship in the knowledge that Mr Turvey is nearing retirement age. The former deputy editor. Mr Hugh Lightwood, will take up the position of agricultural editor and leader writer.
‘Mr Roger Rose, a director for some years, has assumed the position of general manager of the “Express.” He succeeds Mr K. H. Lucas, who will return to the “Nelson Evening Mail.”
