Kampuchea
Sir, — We assume that New, Zealand’s representative at the United Nations is acting for. and advised by, our Government. If so, how can New Zealanders condone his action in voting- for a regime with a proven record of mass murder and the complete destruction of internal economics. The politics in the United Nations would appear to be as exasperating as our own, i.e. if we totalled . the number- of absentee .votes, and presumed them against Pol. Pot. the Khmer Rouge would, have been defeated in both votes. Instead, we have politicians who will not say whether they, support ‘either or, neither of the regimes, but say what the United States; does because Russia voted jn a nominal way.- Our Olympic athletes know how it feels to be involved in world politics. but our rugby players do not. — Yours, etc.. R. DONOVAN.
