Man jailed for robbery
PA Dunedin A man, aged 22, who robbed a south Dunedin shopkeeper of $3OO with a gas-worked pistol has been jailed for 21 years. Paul Booth, an unemployed forklift driver, appeared for sentence before Mr Justice Somers in the Hieh Court at Dunedin; Booth had earlier pleaded guilty to robbing Bernard Graham Turina on July 15 while armed with an offensive weapon. Counsel (Mr C. S, Withnall) said Booth robbed Mr Turina in his bookshop “on the spur of the moment.”
