Phosphate talks
PA Wellington Government officials are optimistic that New Zealand will be able to continue buying phosphate from Christmas Island at “reasonable prices.” ; Talks have been held in Wellington this week, between New Zealand and Australian officials aimed at ensuring continuing supplies from. the island, which -is under -Australian: sovereignty;' '• ' * " ' : A source said that the feeling at the talks had been “hopeful" and that a report would be made to the Cabinet’s ' economic committee next week.
