’Copter to put in cooler

A helicopter will help install an 800 kg meat cooler in the Coachman Inn, Gloucester Street, on October. 18. An Aerospatiale Ecureuil (Squirrel) helicopter used by Whirlwide Helicopters will lift the cooler from a truck in Gloucester Street into a courtyard at the rear of the building. The only other

access to the courtyard is a Im wide alley way, too small for the 2.6 sq. m cooler. The Ecureuil is a lightweight machine capable of lifting 1000 kg. The lift is scheduled for 7.30 a.m.

The courtyard is surrounded by high buildings and a seven-storey-high

strop will be used to lower the cooler so that the helicopter can keep the necessary minimum clearance. Civil Aviation regulations restrict the lift to either a Saturday or Sunday and before 8 a.m., when few people will be about. The street will be closed while the helicopter is working.
