A two storey weatherboard house at Lyttelton sold at auction yesterday for $25,000, nearly twice its 1976 Government Valuation of $13,500. i The house and 1193 square metre section,, which is almost level, is at 2 Brittan Terrace, round towards Corsair Bay. The house is thought to be about 80-years-old, but has been reasonably well maintained. It has four bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs as well as a large ’ longe, and separate livingroom. The house gets a reasonable amount of sun but has a limited view of the harbour from the living area downstairs. The auctioneer was Mr P. J. Cook, of W. E. Simes, Ltd. The property used to be the West Lyttelton vicarage. Last Friday, a brick house at No. 1 Beachville Road, Redcliffs, fetched $33,000 at auction, $4500 more than its 1979 Government Valuation. The house has a lounge, separate livingroom, two double bedrooms, and a sunroom, and is near shops. The auctioneer was Mr M. H. McCrostie, of N. H. McCrostie, and Company.
