NZPA-Rftuter Valkenbtirg, the Netherlands Four European countries — Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and France — were the best-placed to qualify for the world bridge team olympiad semi-finals after matches yesterday afternoon in which Brazil Was toppled from its leadership of Group A. The Brazilians lost to Turkey and Israel, and were replaced at the top of the table by Denmark, which
scored two wins against Egypt find Surinam. With only three days of the qualifying stages remaining, the Netherlands kept second place by beating Chile and Austria. In group B, the leader, Norway, did well to beat India and Poland. Nevertheless, Norway’s overnight lead was shortened by France which beat Pakistan and Hungary. The United States look likely qualifiers even though
