Attractive jumping by Diprose
Special correspondent Palmerston North Diprose gave a grand display of neat and quick jumping at Awapuni yesterday morning. He is fighting fit for the hurdle race there tomorrow and on yesterday’s effort it will take a good effort to beat him. Diprose was a good second in his debut at the Marton meeting last month. He has since finished third in a highweight at Otaki. He schooled over six hurdles and never looked like making a mistake. One of Diprose's main rivals will., be last-start flat winner, Finlay. The horse is] a capable jumper and he looked well running on the inside trial yesterday. He ran. 1600 m in Imin 49.4 s the last 600 m in 41.45. Empress Eugenie and Fabrielle ran 1000 m in Imin 6s,<the final 600 m in 37.45. They worked well and Fabrielfas form suggests a good chance'’ tomorrow.
