N.Z. players tumble at squash titles
FA Adelaide Only two New Zealanders. Bruce Brownlee and Ross Norman, have survived past the second round or the world squash championship at Adelaide. Paul Vigger, and Brian Barnett were bundled out in the first round, and joining Nevin Barbour in his second round exit yesterday was Craig Blackwood. who went down 5-9. 6-9, 2-9 to Dean Williams, of Western Australia.
Brownlee was pushed to four games bv Greg Pollard, of New South Wales, before winning, 9-5. 9-4. 7-9. 9-5.
Norman had to play five games. Down two games to one against
Queensland’s Frank Donnelly, he put In two polished final games to clinch, the match. 9-5, 6-9. 1-9. 9-0. 9-1.
The top seed, Geoff Hunt (Victia). continued with his sharp first round form, taking just 2ft minutes to dispose of the West Australian, Stephen Wall. 9-6, 9-4. 9-1.
Mohibulla Khan, the third seed, took two games to get going against the unseeded Peter Nance, of Queensland. Khan won the first game. 9-5. but then dropped the next 7-9. However, the following two games were vintage Khan as he swamped Nance. 9-0, 9-2.
