Inquiry into airline

PA Wellington The Air Services Licensing Authority will hold a public inquiry on October 16 into the activities of Nationwide Air.

A significant part of the company’s activities, Nationwide Air International, was wound up on April 16, with debts to unsecured creditors of $132,621.

Another part, the licence belonging to the Air North subsidiary, allowing services between such as Kaikobe, Auckland, Hamilton. Rotorua, and Gisborne, was revoked on September 5 because the services were not running.

The inquiry will examine the licence of Nationwide Air Akarana, Ltd. (in receivership and liquidation)-, to determine whether services had been run in terms of the licence, and if airport and airways dues are paid up.

Under that licence, the company ran charters and air taxis from Auckland, plus a scheduled AucklandWairoa service.
