Eddington for Methven

Warren Eddington, the former Canterbury all-roun-der, will play his cricket for Methven, not Sydenham, in the 1980-81 season,

Sydenham had high hopes that Eddington, who played five timse for Cantrbury in the 1977-78 season, would be available for the coming summer. However. Eddington has confirmed that he will instead play in the Ash* burton competition for Methven.

"I had been looking forward to playing in Christchurch, but what they offered me was not quite enough to cover my expenses,” said Eddington. Sydenham was one of three Christchurch clubs to approach Eddington, the others being Lancaster Park and St Albans. But Eddington, who turns 25 later this month, said that he was “quite happy” to play for Methven this -season.
