Factory resumes
Processing -of meat resumed on Wednesday at the Christchurch Airport factory of Airfoods (N.Z.), Ltd. which was badly damaged by fire on August 21.
1 Airfoods is a subsidiary of the Canterbury Frozen Meat (Company. Ltd. For the next three weeks the plant will be run on a temporary basis, using one of the buildings left undamaged by the fire. A spokesman for the company said that all 50; employees were now back at work, most of them having; taken their annual leave in the period since the fire. Reconstruction of the building is expected to be finished late next week and the plant should be back in full production by October 13, he said.
