Threat to ferries
PA. . Wellington Cook Strait ferries may be disrupted by industrial action again today, for the third time in five days. It is believed that the Cooks and Stewards’ Union,; may take industrial action today to protest against the visit of the nuclear warship U.S.S. Truxtim. Air Force planes will
stand by this morning to continue the relief airlift, Operation Pluto, if the ferry sailings are cancelled, because of industrial action. Watersiders went • on strike for. the day at Wellington yesterday halting work on the waterfront, but their action did not affect the sailing of two return ferry crossings to Picton. r ’■ ' ■ ■ ■
