Assailants sought
Detectives still seek three men who escaped with $5O after assaulting the occupants of a Tuam Street house on Tuesday evening. The police said the three had kicked in the front door of the house about. 11.30 p.m., demanded money, and punched the two male occupants. The two men suffered minor bruising. The Christchurch C. 1.8. is still investigating two suspicious fires in the city. A Volkswagen Variant car, valued about $5OOO, was destroyed in a suspicious fire in a Waltham street on Monday evening. A fire which badly damaged a Linwood Avenue house on Tuesday evening is also being treated as suspicious.
